#WhyWeLoveGerard

In July this year, Gerard had an accident that changed his life. After diving into a shallow lake in Sweden and hitting his head, he fractured his spine. Following emergency surgery, Gerard was flown back to the UK and is currently undergoing rehabilitation for his C5 tetraplegia.

So on December 17th Matthew (Gerard’s Brother), Giedrė and Hollie decided to raise money by doing a Coastal Half Marathon in Portsmouth. Matt asked for a few T-shirts with the hashtag #WhyWeLoveGerard so I gave him a few options:

Matt didn’t really have a brief apart from the green, so he let me have free reign. I thought giving him a few simple options would be easier for him, so the 1st design is based on the cover photo that appears on his just giving page, albeit jazzed up. The second is a (probably over designed) stylised font and the third is a simple bold text with quotes taken from the #WhyWeLoveGerard video. If I had more time I would have got them to hand write their quotes and vector them individually but we had a tight deadline due to the marathon. The third design was chose and they were printed in time:

If you want to know why they’d happily run 13 miles in the middle of winter by the sea, and/or want to donate here’s the link: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/we-love-gerard-murphy

NaSTA T-Shirts: One of a kind designs

The NaSTA awards are a massive part of the Student calendar. Starting in 2015 I designed 4 shirts as a surprise the new station managers of SX:TV and the Infamous Dr. Clift. In 2016 it extended to include the NaSTA alumni, affectionately named by our Italian captain as “lads/sluts on tour”. While these will or should never be printed again, I still love them…

All of these were printed by the amazing guys at Red Oak Roller so check them out for all of your shirt printing needs.

Yes, these were actually printed…
